Readers of the novel version of this will be going WTF right now. XD Because...there's no fortale. I decided that Bri and company could bipass the fortale guards if they knew what subdimension they needed--and this one is an ooooold favorite. ^_~
*squeals*
Your panel layout is giving me a 'check your pants' moment! The varying diagonals, with the one rectangular panel to off-set it all... *swoons*
ANd... I think I agree with you about the door, I definitely see what you mean, at least.
*wishes I had my arch refs so I could send you some* T.T
I think it owuld've helped if it wasn't such a regualrly shaped house; maybe a little wider, or something. And windows. More windows. *nods*
The tree... I like the swirls for texture, but they seem a little too... erratic. They really draw the eye to em.
That said, the fourth panel is probably the most beautiful panel I've seen you put out yet! The expression, the tones, the wispy hair... c'est magnifique!! =)
XD If I didn't already know the truth, Bohemian, I'd be wondering if you were a girl at this point. XD
Tis really just me being lazy at this point...^^; I'm not that great with BG. And this story DEMANDS BG like MAD.
*makes note* More...windows...
Unfortunately, that is how the tree is supposed to look. It's a specific kind of tree that I made up when I was in biology. It's called a Thalasa tree, and the leaves are ginormous! X_X Jirkle's ex-wife Edna uses them to make her famous thalasa pie, which is, I've heard, quite delicious. ^-^
Hey, UK! Didn't know non-users could comment here until now. ^^;
I'm digging the comic version! It's really the only way to combine storytelling skills and drawing skills efficiently, and you're very skilled at both. ^_^
I actually had pictured Jirkle's home as being simle and normal, so I wasn't bothered by its simplicity at all. However, I'm sure that some of your other worlds ought to be weird, and I figured out when in Europe it's easier to design other worlds when you've seen and studied more of your own. I took tons of pics of architecture there, more than I can post on DA, so if you want me to send any of them your way for later use, I'm more than happy to!
Hmmm... making up trees. Interesting idea. But I guess it would be kinda necessary when dealing with alternate dimensions. So points for you. =)
Although a darker tone would've been good to add more depth to the tree on the right side... *wink*
And it's not the simplicity of the design of the house so much as the shape. Simple doesn't have to mean plain, as plain=boring. Yo can make a simple house without it being a box; more rectangular (taller), a round hovel, etc.
And I'm glad this story is such a challenge for you; the more it pushes you, the more you'll improve.
And I am still male!! I've just... been reading a lot of shojo lately... XD
